How to Become a Christian
Our goal at Callie’s Mission is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the globe. We know that some who visit our site do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. To those who have not placed their faith in Christ by surrendering their lives to Him, we encourage you to do so right now.
To accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, you must do a few things. First, you must admit that you are a sinner. Romans 3:23 states “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Sin is doing something that does not meet God’s standard of how we are to live.) Unfortunately, Romans 6:23 tells us “the wages of sin is death.” This implies that everyone who sins is punished by death. (This death implies hell.) Thankfully, your sins can be forgiven by believing that Jesus Christ came to die for your sins. His life began in Luke 2 with the virgin birth. The rest of His life was recorded throughout the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John). If you read through these, you will see that Jesus lived a perfect life. Because He lived a perfect life, He was able to be a sacrifice for us so we would not have to suffer God’s punishment of not allowing us to enter heaven. This is summed up in John 3:16. It reads, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Once you have admitted you are a sinner and believed Jesus Christ died for your sins, you need to commit to God that you will attempt to live out your life by the standards He laid out in the Bible. You also need to surrender to going wherever and doing whatever God leads you to do for the reminder of your life. Lastly, you need to tell others that you are now a believer in Christ. Romans 10:9-10 tells us “that if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” This means you should share your faith with others so that they can place their faith in Christ as well.
Once you have admitted you are a sinner, believed in Jesus Christ, committed your life to obeying Him and surrendered your life to following Him, simply pray to God telling Him about your new faith in Christ. Also, thank Him for saving you.
